Thankyou both. I definitely didnt sow any seed so assuming it was a bird.

Do any of you know what sort of clematis this is? It's been flowering since early spring. I bought it about 5 years ago and lost the label.

This has sprung up in the last few days. No idea what it is, a bird must have dropped seed. It's very pretty but hoping it's not invasive.

Wow Phillip what a transformation, I love your curved paths and beds and the natural look.

Thankyou. I'm learning the art of patience!! Trouble is I watch all the garden makeover programmes where they suddenly have beds overflowing with flowers and I want that๐Ÿ˜„.

We have the same problem. Ours is all lawn and sloping away from the house. We get school kids running across it, people letting their dogs run over it. Might just grow a load of thistles there!!๐Ÿ˜„

Do any of you know what this is? Birds must have dropped a seed because I didn't plant it. The bees love it.

So, I have been adding manure, kitchen compost, multi purpose compost, sand, grit. I'm really pleased at how it's looking. I bought some plants at the Gardeners World Show and also yesterday went to a beautiful nursery just south of Reading. Give me plant shopping over clothes shopping any day!!! I've been poorly recently with anxiety and could not put my heart into anything so today I made up for it! I've planted some Briza Media, astrantia, geranium, Carex evergold, veronicastrum, physostegi virginiana and a rose called Margaret Merrill which smelt beautiful when it was in flower. Now I need to start on bed to the right of this one.
