Lizzie, you husband sounds just like mine, he knows it's no use saying anything, just keeps saying 'I thought you were cutting down on things this year' and rolls his eyes.

I haven't ordered any plug plants this year as we are hoping to go away for more holidays and having to rely on neighbours to water isn't really fair. Going to plant more perennials and hope for the best.

Bunny, Yes the halogen oven does have to stand on the worktop, but I wouldn't be without it.

Toast with butter and tomato sauce on its way, can't stand tomato sauce.

No Pizza or creme eggs here I'm afraid, I was thinking more like tea, coffee, nice slice of toast with real butter, thats what I'm having.

Goldie. one of the best things I have bought lately has been a Halogen oven, saves you from having to put your big oven on for small amounts, very reasonable to buy, uses less electricity, wouldn't be without it.

I've had some real bargains from ebay. Must say I'd rather buy than sell, everyone want something for nothing, human nature I suppose. My gripe is when you sell something really good, go to a lot of trouble, and then they can't be bothered with fedback.

Becks, you sound really chuffed to have your car back, I would certainly miss ours, no matter what they cost to run, the convenience is worth every penny.

Just bought a bistro table and chairs from ebay, bargain at £18, now got to fetch it from Suffolk. Will be a day out, just hope the weather improves.

Nothing I fancy watching on tv, it's all cooking, get enough of that in real life.

Checked the GH and most of the cuttings and seedlings look alright, double fleeced and in heated propagators, going to put some cloches over the soil tomorrow to try to warm things up a bit in the veg garden.

Enjoy your 'Me time' Becks, soon be Easter then the kids will be off school again.

FEEDING CLEMATIS

I prune, the ones that need it, late February/ early March, and feed with Sulphate of potash, water in and the feed again with rose fertilizer or any all purpose food when in bud, and again occasionally through out the growing season.

I now only grow the viticella type clematis as I find they are far less trouble and do not suffer from clematis wilt like group 1 and 2. Mulch generously once you have watered the fertilizer in.

After all the rain we've had the ground will be ready for a good feed.

I've got one growing in the garden, not a pot, so can't help you there. Mine is planted in a sheltered spot in the garden and hardy, we have had temperatures in the past of -14c and it has survived.

They tend to grow on more delicate stems, but are quite vigourous, at least it is in my garden, It readily layers itself so you can propagate quite easily.

Morning All.

Not much to report today, a bit boring really. Going to get some grow bags shortly, might join Geoff at Beige Land, see what's on offer.

Oh arrived home at 11-45 last night, had a good night at the brewery, but you would, wouldn't you, free beer, but he's not a big drinker anyway so was almost sober no paracetamol required.

More seeds to sow, bought some antirrhinum this year for a change, my Dad always used to grow coleus, lovely colours and usually a surprise, not had any for years, dead easy to grow, If I remember rightly we used to root them in water from leaves, might be wrong.. Bought some Hyacinthus Candican, summer hyacinth, and a speciosum lily, so will be off to GH to get them potted.

Window cleaner just arrived might be able to see out now
