I remember pobs, and if you were under the weather my grandma's remedy was a cup of tea with a teaspoon of whiskey, poured into the saucer to cool and slurped. She had all sorts of weird and wonderful remedies, beef tea, calves foot jelly, indian brandee, senna pods. She was a herbalist, and long before the NHS she would treat and nurse most of the people who lived in our street. Before my time I hasten to add.

I like Merlin and Strictly, so that's something to look forward to, Saturday nights tele is for me usually rubbish.

Geoff, I will look for the numbers for you and get back tomorrow.

'Night all, hot water bottle in, now for my book and bed.

Inkadog,. that sound terrible, Lucky the owners were out at the time, what a shock for them to know they have lost their home.No fear of fires here, everything is soaking wet

Geoff, yes I have a a paper copy of the Daily Mail, may I ask why? By the way the Lib/Dems have got "I'm a Pleb" badges at their conference, thought you might be interested just seen them on the 5 o'clock news, you would think they would have better things to think of, like the economy.

Hope you haven't go the dreaded lurgy Will you be able to manage your tea?

Hope everyone else is managing to stay warm and dry, terrible floods everywhere.

Wet suites and flippers available on ebay.

Good morning everyone.

Weather pretty poor here in Lincoln today. Cold and wet, though not the heavy rain that was forecast as yet. Have battened down the hatches in readiness.

Good morning all

Have just been reading Daily mirror article on " Sorry I haven't a clue" radio programme. some little gems from the past.

Reindeer. - A Michael Winner weather forecast.

Ovaltine - a fat adolescent.

Pastiche - What Sean Connery eats in Cornwall.

Unfettered -. Without Greek cheese.

The list goes on, made me smile on this horrible morning..

Becks - Hope Jess is feeling better. Maggots in the middle of the night,  sounds like a horror movie.

My OH says he can't cook, I don't think I could stand the mess he would make, he would probably set the kitchen on fire, he is the most untidy worker, but gets the job done. He spends most of his time looking for tools as he has forgotten where he has left them.

I think feeling a bit jaded yesterday was due to the flu jab I had on Friday,- yes it's that time again folks,- at least that's what I think.

Plebs, I like that word, it sounds like it's meaning, if you know what I mean. What is the requirements to join the club?

Have a good day, although the weather is dreadful.

Hi everyone.

Feeling a little jaded today after last nights meal, ate too much, but as I only had 1 glass of white vino, I can't blame that. must be the late night.

Lots of beautiful pics, I love roses, but some of mine have not done very well this year.

I know what you mean about actors not matching up to your expectations. but some who are not what you would call  handsome or good looking just have that certain something.

Cold east wind here today, but at the moment dry, so I will be snuggling up on the sofa and watching some tv.

Cat feeding duties completed.

Roast Lamb for evening meal tonight, with usual accompaniments

Nr Lincoln.

Hi everyone.

Cold and getting more overcast, but as yet no rain today. Easterly wind according to the weather vane, straight from the continent over the North Sea, so not good.

Roast Lamb with all the bits and bobs for evening meal tonight.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday,

Frank, it's supposed to be a day of rest

Kate, knowing daughters OH there wont be a crumb left, but if there is it will be in your cyberlocker pronto

Becks, Italy is also my absolute fav for holidays, just love it, the food, the style, architecture, not to mention the sunshine, I was going to say men, but thought better of it although Italian men are a bit on the short side. No offence intended to any Italian men who read this forum.

Just off to feed the Fleur the cat, as I have said, rather posh.

Will catch up tomorrow.
