Plant or Weed

If it is a Dock the stem will be slimy when broken ,is it possibler to break any part of it to find out ?  if it is a dock it will be a tough stem and you      may have to use secaters. The photo is a little hard to tell from and as others have asked - can you take another a bit further away- then if we enlarge it ourselves with the zoom tool we can see clearer.

Have you seen one?????

Did anyone see the gardeners world program which was letting everyone see the differance between our small english ladybirds and some larger ladybirds , preditors from abroard .?

I think it was when Monty was on  last year . ones we are supposed to destroy are bigger and they are wiping out  our little ladybirds

Have you seen one?????

These plants need plenty of drainage,Had I clay soil I would dig a large -ish hole dig in plenty of grit sand  and something like pearlite mix this well  with compost. Problebly a third of each. The roots grow like an octapus tentacles and will snap very easily .They need the same conditions as alstromeria lilies . For the first few years I grew mine in a largeplant pot sunk in the ground       Your stem may still come  as the leaves tend to die back .  But They do not like wet conitions so with all the rainy seasons we are getting, plant in a pot put it outside your door or something.

Peony Pruning?

HI, If you grow from seed soak in water if the seeds are big unless you are setting straight away after removing from the plant  This is how I did it.. put some grit in with the compost. Then grit over the top. The first year they will grow a long root . the seconed year a bit of a leaf . they will slowly form a tuber. It took a while for mine to make a small plant . it hasnt flowered yet. So be patient- they say its a virtue , don't they - patience?

The leaves I leave on the plant after flowering . I too suround with something like a cranes bill or Baby's Breath. - Gypsophala . It will grow through it and it will be hidden .

Plant or weed what is it.

I too think same as the answers above .

I was also told that there are no such things as  weeds..........'' a weed is only a plant which grows in the wrong place''.

I enjoyed my dinner thanks!!!
