Has anyone taken cuttings  from Broom . ? I planted several broom shrubs  3 years ago .I have since narrowed my borders . My problem is that they are now too near the front. also too big, I would like to move them to the back .

But do they move ok ? ,  or is cuttings an idea ?

I know that I could just trim back but  the last time I killed it because I didnt realise that you couldnt  cut into the old wood - so on this point - if I stick to cutting the green growth back I should be ok -maybe !

Yes I'd go with nut, or you could try seed if they have produced any flowers. Some will self seed by themselves.

PLEASE    ,,,,,    Can anyone suggest a safe spray for food crops . My cabbages which have about 10 leaves infested by green caterpillers . I know butterflies are in short supply but is there anything I can use( other than my fingers to remove catterpillers ) to spray on cabbages to prevent this happening . never been bothered before . I grew to seedling stage , pricked out into pots , are about 6 inch high but still in greenhouse . I have no ground yet until peas are finished .

They are moth orchids , didnt pay much for them , some were from tesco when they were reduced to £3 others from garden center ( Brigg ) when they were in the clearence . I have some in bud when I checked this morning . I thought it was the next best thing to a rain forest . I keep the doors and window shut and it is always an inch in water. BUT NOT THE ORCHID - THE ORCHIDS  I STAND ON A HOUSE BRICK  . I also grow cucumbers and melons in the same greenhouse , They do very well .

seen in Derbyshire garden , a very tall cage made from a wooden frame with attached chicken wire (even across the top ) and a chicken wired /wooden gate .Shade for cats, a dugg area for the crap ,  and a litter tray ,a movable tree trunk .

Thought it was a odd thing to do - but maybe its the answer - the cats seemed to be enjoying themselves and still there at dusk - there was a covered area which contained blankets . Maybe the cats bed ?
