Gigantic courgette leaves

Thanks everyone. Haven't fed them with anything since I planted them. And everything is covered with fleece and have full sun, when it is out. I guess I will just have to wait patiently. I do have another courgette plant that I planted in the border in my garden and it's isn't very big but had loads of male flowers but no female ones as yet.
Are Hostas really for shade?
Posted: 01/07/2012 at 09:02
Hi. I planted 3 hosts last year in complete shade. They didn't do very well last year but this year they are massive and are now about to flower. So don't give up hope. I think they maybe need a bit of maturity. Mine are growing under hedges and don't see any sun. Hope this helps

Hi. I have a courgette plant that has gigantic leaves and lots of them but no flowers. This is planted in a raised bed. Not sure if it's overloaded with nutrients as all my veg in the raised beds have really large greenery but nothing else. My carrots are the same. Loads of greenery but no sign of carrot and they should have been ready to eat weeks ago. Can anyone offer any suggestions please. Thanks

Just to say I found the culprit this morning. After finding more leaves eaten I decided to take my mini greenhouse apart. Found a snail tucked under the lip of the pot. So hopefully no more leaf eating on my plant

Pleased to say no more leaf eating last night. Put more marigold round and some egg shells. So hoping this has worked

Thank you for your help I will keep a look out. I've already poked about in any gaps and hiding places. Is there anything these caterpillars don't like?

Can anyone help me find out what is eating my aubergine leaves. There are no holes so assuming it isn't flea beetle. What ever is eating it is eating all round the edges until no more leave is left. It's in a mini greenhouse with PVC cover. I have put pots of marigold all round it but this morning more of the leaves had been eaten. I'm worried it might start on my pepper and tomatoe plants next which are in the same grow bag

I got 3 that were all supposed to all follow on from each other. Will just have to wait a while longer then.
Thank you to all of you, I really appreciate your advice
