Buxus bush

Posted: 03/04/2013 at 20:07

I was thinking more of a clipped bush rather than a low hedge FR, as we have 3 energetic dogs that jump over the wall into the garden and would probably take the plant with them! also getting the mower onto lawn may be an issue if i had the hedge. do you know a good place to get a decent size box for a decent price?

Buxus bush

Hi, In my garden ive got a path that runs at the side of the lawn and along the house (tried to picture it for you in my Paint drawing :S) and i was wondering if you would agree to plant a clipped bush, maybe Box plant at either corners of the path. I cant really describe it well in words so heres a picture :P . Also, how long will it take to full a height of say 1 metre? And will i have to plant a small Box topiary ball and let it grow or is there another way round it? Thanks! Hopefully you can see the pic

Waitrose garden

As many of you may have heard/seen, Waitrose have teamed up with Crocus to sell a range of gardening products; including plants and their own range of Waitrose tools (very middle class). However on recent inspections (equivalent of visiting the garden centre) they seem to be just selling the plants that Crocus themselves sell, but on a different website. Now as much as i lust Waitrose, this recent embarkment seems to be abit of a pointless thing for Crocus and Waitrose as the Waitrose Garden website is an exact copy of the Crocus website, selling exactly the same plants and products as Crocus? I would have thought that Waitrose was going tonset up their own nursery! Whats your opinion? Have you ventured onto the website and purchased a Waitrose/Crocus plant?

Went to the glassery (what ever you call them) and brought some glass for my poor greenhouse. 9 panes had been smashed by the winter wind. I also planted my peas, onion and lettuce seeds (A tad late??!) they are now sitting comfortably in the spare bedroom windowsill where its nice and toasty.

Hedging for shade

Hi all, youve probably had this question a million and one times but could you reccomend a suitable hedging plant that will survive under deciduous trees? Prefferably it would be evergreen, doesnt have to flower but i could cope with that lol. I was thinking about Common Laurel? Maybe hmmm...
