Climber For Large Container

Can somebody recommend a large climber to cover a large sheltered east facing wall which would be growing in a 'stone' cattle water trough (3ft deep, 2ft wide and 5ft long)?

Buying plants

Hi all.

Not sure if this is a taboo topic but does anyone know where you can buy a large amount of perennials at not so high prices? Looking at wholesale nurseries, they only sell to the trade. However, how would they know if I wasnt, say, a fledgling nursery?

apolog if this isnt allowed.

North Facing Border

Posted: 11/07/2016 at 21:05

Thought it would be good to follow on from my post. Its not quite the full, lush and blowsy cottage garden I am looking for but it is early days (years). The marigolds and foxgloves are both grown by me from seed . I've managed to plant some geraniums (Wargrave) and lady's mantle however it is proving expensive to buy enough to fill the borders. any tips or constructive criticism is appreciated !!

Brill, thankyou fairy. Some of the white shoots are growing downwards into the roots themselves; will they find their own way north?

just nipped into big orange shed and bought 4 packs of 8 Lily of the Valley corns as they were reduced; they have started to grow some long white shoots. Having never grown them before is this normal? (Pic for reference to said shoots) and how deep to plant?

Is this a plant or weed?

For those of you who grow strawberries, where do you get a better crop; in the ground or in containers?
