Thank you, never thought about potting up again, I will give it a whirl.

This is the first time that I have ordered bare rooted plants.  Which is the best way to deal with them.

I thought if I planted them into individuals pots with compost and get them started this way before I planted them in the borders.

Any other way? Pleased  to hear any alternatives.

Thanks for that.  I will try it as you are a lot further north than us.

Has anyone grown this dwarf shrub.  We live in the North west on an Island

and it can be quite windy and we get a lot of rain.

I would like to grow this in container, it is to block out a 18in gap between a wall and a fence.  The other side of this gap is our neighbours extension, so when the wind is blowing from the east it blows through the gap.  It is a sunny position.

Or could you recommend an alternative

Removing tree stumps and roots

I actually bought a matlock.  It did work and then my husband came and used brute force. So the stump is out.

If I leave the roots, will these rot down or will they start to grow again?

Is it best to chop them up, the best I can?

I actually have bought a small butterfly bush to replace it.

Does anyone recommend an alternative to the above recommendations.

Or is it not recommended to use a chemical liquid?

I recently cut a shrub down, because it had grown too big for the space, and next doors clematis was wrapping itself round it.

How do you get rid of the stumps and roots?

I  hope to plant a butterfly bush in the spring, I will be able to hard prune this every spring.
