Borago officinalis Borage

Posted: 21 June 2013
Overall: My borage seems to have decided it's a perennial.
I grew from seed a few years ago, and planted it in a border. It has come up each year, despite the cold winters. Wonderful plant for the bees etc, though it does getting a bit big and unsightly.

Meconopsis betonicifolia Himalayan blue poppy

Posted: 21 June 2013
Overall: I planted one last year in a border, but it came under sustained attack from snails, and was very unhappy. Have moved it to a container, stuck it in the shade, and religiously watered and fed it, mixing in tea leaves/coffee grounds to acidify the growing medium. It is now four foot tall and just flowered.
