Here's a few pic's of my San Marzanos,the ones in the greenhouse are turning red but there's not many of them,the ones grown outside are still green but lot's of em.My first year so not bad still got a lot to learn,will try different varieties nxt year

thx fidget,i asked a few experienced allotmenteers about it and no one new , so i think i'll now claim i grew it as a white cuke experiment might get me some kudo

mornin all ,someone gave me this cucumber(i think) it's pale yellow , cut a small one in half and it's just like a cuke insde , why is it like this? is it a mutant ?

 also here's my first born ..bless

oh ok thx , very interesting,so no need to feed them anymore ? or maybe every 2/3 weeks?

Thx all , so should i stop the plant growing ? how do i do that? i nipped the top bud thingy on one plant but it's still producing buds ! i removed quite a few leaves, i've got enough toms coming now for my first year,so would like all the er to go to the toms , cheers

morning all ,just wondered when/how to stop my plants from growing.grew from seed ,in the ground now in ghouse got quite a few weird looking toms and still got flowers,have been watering twice a week and fed once a week(twice) my first year on the allotment,do they look healthy ?anything else i should be doing ? cheers

Thx very much italophile,looks like i didn't pick the easiest tom to grow(for a beginer) oh well one of many lessons learned in my first year. How will i know if they get BER ? sounds scary

Thx for your replies.I chose san marzano for cooking, most italian recipes use them(tinned)but wished i'd chosen a few more varieties,but didn't have a greenhouse at the time.Next year i'll try different ones. Thx again

Thx kef. ye i've removed those shoots  but there are new shoots growing at the base of the plant at soil level, quite thick ones,is this the norm ?should i snip em off below first true leaf ? do the plants look healthy u think ? got some tomotorite(?) when do i feed my babies ? what's the score with watering? once a week?when the soil feels dry?a little every day?tube inserted into soil to allow water to the roots? u just know !     cheers

Hi all , got my first allotment in january and my first greenhouse 2 months ago.I grew

san marzano from seed  now in the greenhouse. just wondered if they are bushy or tall ( not sure of the technical jargon) posted a few photos ,do i need to trim off the shoots that are growing at the bottom of the stem and what about feeding them ? just starting to get flowers in the past few days .thx. got carried away with the photos
