I don't think you can go far wrong with a Honda mower, quite pricey but you get what you pay for.

They flower best if they have at least 6hrs sun each day, flowering time varies with the variety, some of mine are budding up nicely at the moment, they are fine in pots.
Yes probably they have been too cold at night, the leaves usually go very pale , white even, the actual plants may recover.

I used the Levingtons with water lock for a few years but I thought last year it wasn't so good, now using Homebase MPC excellent stuff, 50% peat content 50% wood fibre, no bits at all.
Plants are romping away.
I still think they are Gooseberries, the growth all looks like this years so there will not be any flowers as they fruit on old wood, have they been cut down recently?
Is it in a container or in the ground?
There are so many different Hostas it's very difficult to tell the difference between them in some cases.
