Cost of bird food

I really think you get what you pay for, cheap seed mixes usually contain lots of wheat which is only good for pigeons.
And cheap fat balls contain sand & other rubbish to bulk them out.

The only way you can stop a cat from messing where it wants is to keep it shut in 24/7, our cat was trained to use a litter tray but it would only use it if it couldn't get outside.

Middle one is an Alstroemeria, also known as Peruvian lilly.

I went for, cream, yellow, white & pink speckled.
Plants are flowering size growing in 9cm square pots.
Planted them straight into the garden, a couple of them are about to open.

You can use Hydrogen Peroxide as a prevention for damping off, it's also useful for soaking seeds before sowing. Some people water their pot plants with it as well.
Only use a 3% strength mix though.
