Its good for the survival of Sycamore/Ash trees I guess that nothing eats the seeds

Geraniums

Dig it up Steve, last Winter was exceptionally mild, I doubt we will get a repeat of that.

Cut it back hard and pot up in fresh compost, keep somewhere frost free over winter, no heat needed.

Cut all my Pelargoniums back today, same as Verdun

Barely a leaf to be seen, I can vouch that they do respond well to this with a bit of TLC

Clematis & Jasmine

Bad time of year to do it I'm afraid.

I dont know if Jasmine would respond to a harsh cut back.

Clematis I would cut back in Early Spring. April ish

Snowdrops are extremely hardy, Dont worry about them, just make sure they arent kept too warm.

Any chance of a Photo? This would really help identify the problem

Dividing Lupins

This question is aimed at Verdun really as Ive seen him mention it a few times

I divided one of my Lupins that seemed to have got pretty big.

What I didnt realise is that they have a tap root, I broke this apart into 3 sections, each with its own bit of root and potted them up.

They seem to be doing ok at the moment

Is this the right way to do it?

Dig them up after the first light frost and store somewhere frost free in dry compost.

Split in Spring and pot the individual pieces up. I split mine this Spring just gone into about 4 separate plants from a large clump.

I gave 3 of those away and the 1 I kept has formed a clump just as large.
