Cutting Back Penstemons

Posted: 30/08/2014 at 21:20

I took some cuttings 2 weeks ago of some Penstemon in small terracotta pots using mpc and grit.

They have tiny leaves coming from the side shoots so I'm hoping that these will have rooted in a week or so's time so I can pot them on

Sweet Peppers

Hi all I have had 8 lovely big sweet Peppers from my plant. It is starting to produce new flowers now.

What I'm wondering is that its now coming to September and I'm thinking is it best to discard the plant now?

Do you think these flowers will produce ripe fruit in my greenhouse before it gets too cold?

Beautiful Dahlias but I wont grow them, useless for insects. Have lots of single flowered ones  though

Potted plants for winter?

amen to the constant change Tootles. Have to stop doing this and keeping the plants rather than buying fresh all the time.

I'm a little impulsive with plants so am learning to take cuttings and split my plants accordingly, saving myself a fortune.

I'll try get a pic tomorrow for you Tootles.

Unfortunately I seem to live over the road from Steptoe who loves collecting stuff to try and fix and sell then burns what he cant!

To my amusement the Fire Brigade turned up to put it out today ~

Just thought I would share this amusement!

Young perennials/seedtrays in or out of greenhouse?

They look fine

Although I would remove all those weed seedlings as they are competing for moisture and nutrients from the soil
