I have rigida and mine did not appear until really late as well, lovely and bright. I have it with Bishop of llanduff and it goes really well. Then again I don't go for subtle.

Thanks all

I will need a lot of flowers but not next year. Next year is experimenting to see how I can get the most.

these Verb Bon did get so untidy I have to do something rather than keep the original plants.

I was hoping for seedlings but no sign of them

Wasps eating apples.

We used to cut off the tops off water/pop bottles invert them back into the base of the bottle, put some holes in to take string . Then we would mix up a big spoonful of cheap jam and water, pour it into the bottom of the bottle (about 2 cm). Hag on tree like lanterns.

Collects the wasps(which can't escape), kids used to love making them, hanging them and looking at the results.

It did work

I have some over grown and out of controll verbena bonariensis. I would love to dig it up but it has beed deignated (by daughter) as one of the flowers for he wedding.

I know it can be propagated by seed but can taking side shoot cuttings work as well.?

Then I can get rid of the messy plants

I could try a cutting - just for the hell of it - though will probably buy a new one and as you say plant in a slightly different place.

Thanks for encouragement

One year on and mine is still pathetic - lots of leaf no flowers. It's going, it has had a year and that is that.

I have Gertrude Jekyll in a shady spot on an arbour - a bit prickly but what a scent!!

There is another one by beales called Dixieland Linda - same sort of poor conditions tolerance and same scent, Orangey coluration - look it up! On my wish list if I ever find room.

i have 24 roses I think

This is Clematis Duchess of Edinburgh - amazed by what it looks like, only seen it as single flower before

I agree about the quality.

I bought my Handel Rose from Fryers roses and that was excellent quality as well.

Don't wish to be pedantic but iceberg may have been bought from DA but is not developed by them.

It is beautiful though. and I have one in my garden a mass of flowers shining in a darker area
