Jo my daughter and I spent a lot of time disagreeing with each other for much the same reasons as you say - we are very similar. She moved out about 2 years ago and first i relished the peace, then I actaully missed the rows, Now she rings me for advice. Although we are not as close as I wish now, at least we are not hating each other. And if she has a problem - eg car crash - it is us she asks for help

We are so alike she described a jumper she had bought the baby, telling me not to buy one only it is exactly the same as one I had already bought!

She yearns for a garden but with the current clinate doesn't stand a chance f them getting their own house, so living in a flat.

What a lot of posts and news and I've only been out for an afternoon!

Becks- hope all was well at docs and you now have magic medicine. I find our receptionists are OK but then I don't see them very often

Jo - what great news, a shame you couldn't join in from the beginning but may be it was for the best. Wish No 2 son would go, Just think you'll have somewhere to put all those cuttings you have too many of, and oodles of advice if she wants it. And we are all here to listen if you need a cyber ear

Where are all the birds ?

Blackbirds love apples. I cut some into quarters for entertainment (hopping around with them on their beaks,) some I chop up. Remember though blackbirds are ground feeders so apple needs to be on ground. Wood pigeons will leave apple alone.

on their way to garden near you!

Blackbirds have returned to my garden this week as well. I am going to attempt to put out a feeder I saw on another thread for them covering seeds with  up-turned wire hanging basket to stop the wood pigeons. We have also seen a little wren, but as she was feeding in a different place I will put out some for her. Does anyone know if they will eat mealworms?

Thanks fro the advice - mine are in a cold greenhouse - and it made me thik about my other plants with those temps.

What's the weather like in your area?

Very cold - Brrrrrr! and dry. Now it's clouding over and the hills seem to be misting - maybe worse to come

Thank you so much

Becks just make sure you emphasise how long you have BOTH been unwell.

Just been to see next door neighbour - from now on will be known as L - she has bought part of OH pressie for me as far to obvious if I have OH with me. She is  very kind person.

Sorry I just can't comment about chickens, only eating them excites me

Big box came today - inside were 2 small garlics for planting - rest was packaging. Which leads me to a gardening question. When would it now be safe to plant them as I know they need frosting?
