Written all cards at last - had a shock at how many i have to post (cost) still must be done.

Bread dough is rising, christmas music is playing, Bing Crosby at the moment, not THAT one though!

OH has investigated the potatoes and dug up a couple of handfuls from near the top for dinner tonight. 

May go and see ancient parent later , home has called to say she's been up to mischief again(sigh)

Very festive table Geoff  Is there room fro all of us??

I wasn't thinking of recusitation, just helping the soil to recover, if the plants live, they do, if they die so be it.

I htink drying out,  well next rain shower  and we're off again

choco - stocking

Just hung washing on line!!!!

Hoping to make some more bread rolls, and actually write Christmas cards.

Fine enough and not so water logged so managed to walk around garden, The plants where it was most water-logged look very sad and not sure if they will survive. If I have time will put a bit more compost on the area. Is this the right thing to do??

I do feel envious when I see such wonderful photos of mature plants on this forum, like your rose Alfred Carriere.

Although my house is 60 years old whe we moved in 21/2 years ago the only way forward was to gut it down to the soil. I managed to keep 3 lilacs but only one has now survived. So I am starting from scratch. I have tried to concentrate on shrubs and fruit as they take longer to mature, this winter I have been planting roses, and long for their maturity.

I have planted a few perennials just to brighten it up and last summer it was full of annual rudbeckias and cosmos.

I am going to sow seeds of summer savory with all beans this year. Appaently black fly don't like it. Have to wait until summer to find out

You could put it in your garage or shed until mature.

I made red tomato chutney and we ave just started eating it. It's a bit burnt, mind was on other things as DIL went into labour when it was on stove and we couldn't work out why we weren't having tects about whar was happening.

All's well and depite burnt bits it tastes OK. Am giving them some for Christmas Ho Ho

Flo - I may have used filo pastry but the mincemeat was a good one with an extra slurp I always add at this time of year. I only used 3 sheets a pie, I think maybe 4 sheets next time, I'll let you know, I still have to make the usual though, just putting it off - too tempting 

The trouble is if you are a foody then ............

Decorated tree, looks as busy as ever, absolutely no style just loads of memories, including that lametta stuff that gets every where for OH.

Mini rolls are cooked, cooling then will freeze - always make small ones as no one really wants a 'gob' full at Christmas. Will make wholemeal ones tomorrow

Dog always gets very mystified - you know - "oh look a tree, in my Big  room, not allowed to sniff, not allowed to do anything else, can't even eat chocolates  "

Worcs - a fairly clear day. Very short shower this morning,but now a few clouds and blue sky so guess tonight will be cold. At moment mild in fact greenhouse opened ots vents a little tiny bit
