Thanks Jean for putting foot on a positive note.

My foot problem has been going on for nearly 2 years now and I am very fed up with it.  It is very restricting with activities and social life. Have to rely on OH if I want to go anywhere

Still have bulbs to plant etc.

Dull, cold and windy here.

Bonfire ashes getting blown about.

Thanks for that tip about fuchsia cuttings Jo. I have a lovely hardy one in the ground i really don't want to lose so will have ago at a cutting, though never had much success in past.

Morning all - back from hospital. I thought they might say don't want to see you again (wishful thinkingnon my part), had a big injection in my foot- he said no gardening for 48 hours, and no jumping, landing on it for 8 weeks. No driving just as I'd started doing it again.  Later today will need pain killers Doc said

Bonfire was agreat success. All except usual 2 houses turned up. No 1 apologised for the portaloos. They thought they would go in back garden and said they were embarssed  Toffee apple muffins were a great success.

Loved your pics. The pond will soon settle in, could you erect some sort of netting frame around pump/filter and put a small iavy or something up it to hide black box. I Still wish I had a pond like that though.

Just had bath/hair wash hospital first thing in morning as after tonight may not have time.

Muffins are boxed ready, hose is now set up, table on the verge for goodies, nearly time to party, well, shiver in the cold. Sky is still as it has been all day completely clear of clouds. Bonfire should keep us warm I hope, at least no pain. Keep you all posted later

OH has volunteered our hose for safety so have just undone the outside tap cover I so carefully did the otheer day to  those instructions!

Bonfire lighting advice??? I guess do not throw lighted fire lighters is one!!!!

Toffee apple muffins look good. Not made them before, not sure about the others though.

No bids then Geoff?

Just looked pearl barley up and in ancient cook book it says blanch by putting in cold water bringing to boil and then throw water away. Guess it softens outer casing.

Everyone needs a rant Jean. Pleased its all over. You will find rooms hold heat for longer now
