Jean - at least they have turned up. Soon be over, workmen I find no respecter of lawn!

Becks - as I was still in bed and OH was doing the important task of making my cup of tea he didn't go and play.

Neighbour is an army officer, OH came in laughing away after talking to him _ seems army man was intending to light firelighters and throw them on bonfire to get it to light

OH suggested making a long spill of newspaper and lighting buried firelighters that way - Army person didn't know what a spill is.

What more can be said!!!!!

Peaceful day for you then Becks?

Everyone else sentiments as Becks

Cold, and bright. Hint of frost gone by time I got up. Cloudless sky. Last night, by greenhouse temp was warmer than night before.

Bonfire tonight - street thing, lets hope it stays clear.

Tomorrows bonfire is getting more 'fun' by minute. One of neighbours is now out on the Green removing turf and digging a hole. Another neighbour is out there supervising with a pint and a fag. I wonder if they'll work out that the hole as it stands (well sits) isn't big enough for stuff accumulated to be burnt. OH has opted to be in charge of bonfire. Such Fun!!!!!

I also thought it was going further down - not outside the houses .....

One thing I bet there'll be more revelry than at the wedding. Jubilee there was and I organised that!

Think I'll contribute some of my apple mountain by making an apple cake.

Brrrrrrr. Just raked up a few more leaves. OH has been mowing piles I make but thse were only small leavesand not as tough as oak so scooped them up and put them in bin. They are damp and that is good I think.

New at all this compost stuff. I ordered a compost bin - from the offer - but when it came was too small so am using it for the leaves, Thing is nearly full and oak has only just started shaking off the leaves, Hoping with wet/damp they will settle down. Leaving the lid off.

I get upset when going thru mother stuff. i agree I thunk it is far worse as she is still here. Although she has no use or need of it.

Nosey now - what firework accident?
