What new plants for next year?

Posted: 31/10/2012 at 10:43

I love blue and yellow combinations. I have Rose Daid Austin in a small bed with geranium 'Johnsons Blue', centaura, chinodoxa(I hope), bluey/mauve aquilegia and of course forget-me-nots.

I visited agarden near here called Hampton Court House (not Pl=alace) and their long borders are all blue and yellow - amazing

I have looked at veronicastrum for my new border, so will look forward to other comments.

in fact I am hoping to use stipa tenissima with Drumstick alliums for early interest.

Heleniums I have just putin and let them get on with it

Lobelia 'Queen Vic' I have just cut mine down, Managed to save some seeds and have given some to next door neighbour as he likes the plant. Will try to grow some as well.

Keep a very careful eye out in spring, once the stems have started to grow - slug and snail 'heaven'!

Jo - do you ever just sit down and rest??

What's the weather like in your area?

Morning forkers.

pleased daughter found house

OH's never seem to understand about clearing things out to gain access to important parts of the unseen house I find. Did my understairs a couple of months ago. Interesting finds! Actually managed, so far, to keep it so that I (we) can find things,

Going to buy a curtain pole today. next door neighbour has said he'll put it up. Got out old curtain rail only to find the peices that fasten it to wall are missing. Really (secretly ) quite pleased.

Hope your gaz man can fix it.

Have to finish off C******** puddings today. No plans for garden but if weather holds off can always find something to do.

If it's really grim may make C cake as well.

Look forward to the firework display Geoff. Love fireworks and have n't been to a display since we moved here.

They are not the nuisance they were in Staffs where they were going off all the time. Just get an occassional Bang at the weekend.

Had my Carrot cake without cake. Needed to cook carrot in juice before adding apple and son said needed to add a pich of ginger. He's got a good palet so is probaby right.

Will power - well just lost over 2 stone and still a way to go. Cakes are very difficult though,  yum yum!!

Nothing quite like a 3 year old to entertain the crowds is there?

Love the magic spell Georg. Think I will use it tomorrow as well|  Wonder what it will do?

My daughter went through a stage of wearing my old Laura Ashley clothes. Did get some back. Perhaps they weren't 'vintage' enough.

Thing is they reminded me of how petite I used to be!!

WEnt to a local supermarket this morning and could get parked easily - no school run!

Next door is in despair - tennagers home - decorating the bedroom!!!

I'm just glad I'm over all that, professionally and as a parent!

Bought some balloons today to hang on door tomorrow - 2 black, 1 orange suitably decorated. Should keepthe locals happy
