Aches and pains

If your knee is swollen try putting an ice pack on it for about 10 minutes. If you dont have an ice pack a packet of peas wrapped in a tea towel will do. Backs are a blooming (ha ha) nuisance.

i slipped 2 discs whilst in labour, didnt know this until after my daughtrt was born. Thought it hurt a lot. My back has certainly got worse over the years. Have had countless xrays, epidurals and 2 lots of major surgery. The last being a lumber fusion. Think im headed for treatment again as it has gotten bad again. I do most of my gardening on my hands and knees get absolutely filthy. Do you have a pain clinic where you are? i found them so helpful and taught me to pace myself and i now manage to do more than before. I also swim twice a week in a hot hydrotherapy pool. Keeps the muscles stong and the water supports you as you exercise. Good luck

Went into town yesterday and got cold wet and very miserable. I am so fed up with being cold even with thermals on. Had some seedlings in my greenhouse and the cold has ruined them too. I now have a cold. Today is not a good day even if the sun is shining. Bah humbug

Woke up full of the joys of spring today, have been swimming, done housework and even a bit of shopping. Im now knackered lying in a messy heap in front of the telly.

The sun is shining but the easterly wind is so cold.

I doubt that i would still be here if it wasnt for my cats. 20 years ago i was bedridden, i had a 4 year daughter to look after. I had to go into hoaspital for major surgery on my back and my daughter stayed with my parents. I was heartbroken i couldnt look after her myself. I had 3 cats at the time, they kept me compant when i was alone at home and feeling b@@@ awful. Luckily the operation worked and the next one did. Looks like im heading for more work on my spine and i know who will be with me when everyone is at work or college. Yes my 3 cats.

I do understand that people dont like cats poohing but we all do it.

Wood to use for raised veg beds

I used old scaffold boards, they were only going to be chopped up and burnt. So far so good. Its great being able to dig without standing on and impacting the soil.
