Big change in the weather cloudy, grey and no sun and its cold. Where did the summer go? Rain is forecast but no idea when it will arrive. A big thankyou to my neighbours who lit a bonfire whilst my eashing was still out as if i need more washing. Couldnt hang it out yesterday because the fire was still smoking.

Havent tried putting beans in freezer without blanching them first. Will give it a go next year as they are all finished for this year. Im relying on me remembering to do it though. Out for lunch today so no bean eating today. My daughter starts her uni course on monday so its a wish you luck lunch really.

Have had this problem on the allotment for a number of years. Police agreed we could put barbed wire on top or fence, they got round this by bringing wire cutters and cut a huge hole in the fence. Many people have had produce stolen, sheds trashed etc. One chap had every pane of glass in his greenhouse broken, without the glass in the greenhouse twisted into a messy heap. The latest bout i had my shed forced open and the lock trashed, luckily nothing of any value so they pulled everything off the shelves and dumped it in the floor. They are now stealing wheelbarrows to carry anything away. I reckon they would steal and camera they could find. Don t know what the answer can be to this one.

I freeze my beans by cutting them up as you would, then blanch them in boiling water and then rinse them in cold water, dry them off and then freeze in bags .I weigh them out enough for the 3 of us for one meal. Has always worked and its lovely to dish them up with the christmas dinner

My sister in law has badgers that visit her garden. They eat everything including sugar puffs and peanut butter. I onlt thought of them as they have good digging claws. We went to a badger hide many years ago and fell in love with them then. Hate the idea of them being culled

Definately no cooked food as it would attract rats. I think it woul be best to take the bottom off the dustbin other wise it would get a bit smelly. I too am disabled but manage to do all i need and anything i cant i get my husnand to do. I rather stubborn and and up getting myself into silly situations, Someone once told me i had to make my disability my friend my reply was the day it was my friend was the day i had lost. Keep fighting. I love my garden and allotment and i may not do things the right way but i do get them done. Right moan over. Try and mix everything up, dry and the more fleshy stuff, even torn up egg boxes and cardboard help.

Could it be badgers? I understand they are very strong so would be capable of digging them up. I have some on my allotment and are about 12 foot, they are monsters. I dont even like them but my husband does but oh they do spread. Think i will not plant so many next time.
