Many years ago when i worked in as florist a lady came in with this little plant she said she had taken a cutting and really nurtured this little plant. Turned out it was a potato she insisted it wasnt but it was really.

Have the same problem on my allotment. Have dug them out twice, well o thought i had. They are now growing up in other places in among my raspberry canes. Now that we have had some rain the groung will be soft enough to dig so will try again. Perseverance i think is the right word.

Snails - the French have the right idea

Posted: 25/09/2012 at 11:51

My husband goes round the gerden in the evening and collects all the snails and puts them in the compost bin after they have been in there a while he puts them into an old fish tank and feeds them on herbs etc and then he cooks and eats them. Needless to say he eats alone, yuk.I tend to throw them over the fence to the chickens. They seem tobe doing ok.
