Very overgrown blackberry

I have a similar on my allotment, the more i cut it back the more it grows. I intend to cut it right back when its finished fruiting so in the autumn .I have rampant raspberries all around it that need taking in hand so they will get the chop late autumn.

New gardener rose question

I bought my mum a grow and name your own rose for mothers day this year. First packet of seeds was a dud. second packet i managed to get 3 seedlings and now i only have one, not sure what happened.  Im hoping when i get flowers i can save some hips and grow some more but i think it may be a while before that happens.

What's the weather like in your area?

Lovely sunshine again and im laid up with bad attack of ibs so wont be going too far. Hope i will feel better tomorrow. I agree its great to have the windows and doors open. Washing the waterproofs and reproofing them so i will achieve something.

Chocolate helps everything. Had major back surgery 2 years ago and im sure it was the chocolate that got me through it although others are doubting it. My daughter is going to music festival on Isle of Wight this weekend, last year was a bit wet so i think they deserve some sun this year. Im going to Wisley on saturday with a group from the allotment, not been on a trip with them before so should be interesting. May the sun keep shining o you all.

Thats good to know it makes a change to do something right. My husband dispairs of me at times. He is a perfectionist and hates it when straight rows arn't straight all i think i have got the job done and im happy with it. I will get to Italy one day maybe i will go with the girls probably more fun that way. Enjoy the rest of your tomatoes.

lots of black spot around this year and lots of roses are affected. Clear all affected leaves and there is a spray you can use but i cant remember the name of it. Im sure your local garden centre will help.

Electric strimmer purchase - advice please

I havent seen any frogs at the allotment but i do have a resident toad who looks a bit like a leaf and nearly got put in the compost bin but jumped away at the last minute. I also have slow worms in another heap who i quite often see sunning themselves on top. So i will be very careful when strimming.

Apology accepted David. I had already bought loads when they were half price but then i wanted particular seeds and have now bought a load more. So my seed box is full to bursting again. My motto is you can always fit a few more plants in somewhere.

Hi Italophile, had to caheck the packet and it is Costoluto Fiorentino. This is the first year of having a greenhouse so have been trying all sorts of seeds. Have been successful with chillis which my husband loves and i cant eat as i have IBS and they upset it. Have grown luchbox cucumbers which are lovely, shame i cant grow them all year but you know how temperamental the british weather is. Where abouts in Italy do you live? have always wanted to visit, maybe i will one day.
