Have just spent a couple of hours sorting out the greenhouse and still have a few Brandywine left trying to save some seeds, i wasnt so successful at it last year. Then the sun came out and the greenhouse turned into a sauna and i looked a sweaty wreck. Have had a shower so nice and clean whilst typing this you will be pleased to hear. Lost all my cherry toms and all the odds and soda i put on the allotment.

I have made scrap books with items i think i will need to read again, usually how to prune things i always forget how to. I still have brambles on my allotment which i have had for 5 years. Have dug them out , hacked at them and put weed killer on them and they still keep growing. They do have the sweetest blackberries. I have a feeling they are indestrucktable ( not sure i have spelt that right).

What's the weather like in your area?

Grey start in Sunny Worthing today but it later lived up to its name just as i had started clearing out the greenhouse, looked like i had got caught in the rain. Sweaty!!!!! not very nice but i am clean now. Also started cutting things back ready for the winter. It only seemed a few days ago i was getting ready for the summer. Made lots of mistakes that hopefully i wont make next year probably make a loy of others though. I thought we were supposed to learn from them ha ha

Cant remember the name but i tkink it was on a stand that had all Italien seeds in Wyevales. Could only get the brandywine from thompson and mogan. I wish i could have them all year round but we certainly make the most of them in the summer.

Managed to get mine for £2 each and they were carried right to my plot. Sadly my source dried up but i do have a few spares. Its much easier on the back not having to dig so much and you can also plant a bit closer together as the soil is deeper. ( i think)

Rained on the washing yesterday. Weather is beautiful today, have been into town and sat on the pier eating my marks and spencers prawn sandwiches. The smell of the seaweed didnt put me off. Keep smiling.

Love tne brandywine. Managed to grow some in the greenhouse this year, absolutely wonderful. One tomato weighed over a pound. I found that they grow quite tall and can be difficult to support but well worth all the trouble. Also grew some pomodora cant remember where i got the seeds from and they were just as good.

I hve used old scaffold boards they weren't that easy to get but much cheaper than ones bought off internet. Best thing i have ever done as i don't have to dig so much.

Outdoor toms ahve really srtuggled this year. I ended up throwing mine away as there was no way they would produce anything, all my plants on the allotment got blight. The only ones that did any good were in the greenhouse. Try again next year.
