Ivy has been the bane of my life. It was 18 inches thick all round the garden and took 6 trips to the tip. As the fences have been replaced the roots have been dug out. Would help if the neighbours would do the same. Taking a day off once in a while can do you good otherwise things can turn into chores. Recharge the batteries.

Can anybody tell us what these flowers are

I got mine from a lady that had it in her garden, even cheaper. Maybe you can have a walk round and see if anyone has it in their garden

I planted Pink fir apple spuds this year and whilst im not laden down with them what i have got are reallt tasty. Im on the south coast so it has been really wet this year and lots of people have lost theirs to blight i seem to be lucky at the moment. Have grown the beef tomatoes in the greenhouse and they seem to be successful, the ones on the allotment are a waste of time. I have loads of runner beans, but the french are pretty hopeless. A bit of a hit and miss growing year, but theres always next year.

Looks like Erigeron. I love it. Which is rather handy as i do seem to have a lot of it. I put bits in tubs and baskets and it seems to tolerate everything the weather can throw at it.

What a beautiful place to live. And a garden that size im jealous. Dont envy you clearing the inside of the house though. At the moment i have a large hole in my dining room ceiling. We had an unknown leak in the shower, must have been going on for months. Chap is coming on tuesday to mend the ceiling have a feeling the hole will get bigger before its mended. Good luck with your garden.

Have had visitors all week so was unable to get to the laptop to do any chatting. The reason my bike is calles Alan. An uncle of mine died and left me some money and his name was Alan. I know im daft but im quite happy in my little world. Bought my mum one of those Name a Rose kits for mothers day this year, we named the rose after my mums dog that died last year. Nothing happened with the first lot of seeds but they kindly sent another packet and so far 2 have germinated. Never knew you could grow roses from seed but then you know how daft i am.

What's the weather like in your area?

Had loads on my allotment when it was warm earlier in the year, in this last lot of sun havent seen any. I have a Persicaria in the garden that has loved all the rain ( glad somrthing has) and is covered in flowers which in turn is now covered in bees. Pegging out the washing one day couldnt work out what the noise was, turned around and was amazed to see so many bees. Starting to get a few butterflies around now as they weren,t to keen on the rain.
