Had a lovely trip to the Donkey sanctuary at Sidmouth in the pouring rain last Tuesday. We had to go as it was a coach trip booked ages ago/ Cant remember the last time we got so wet. Still recovering as i now have earache and a sore throat. Managed to get to the allotment yesterday and picked the first asparagus, wonderful..And of coursr more rhubarb.

I dont seem to be very succesful with Dicentra but my hostas are beautiful. Guess we cant be good at everything

Just been speaking to a friend and she did exactly the same with the strap on shoe things for the lawn, she is cleverer than me she got round the problem by just putting one on and then walking round the lawn. Mine are still in the shed.

The plot next to mine at the allotment has a forest of rhubarb, as usual did too much and fell over in to it. No one could see me as it was so tall. I still see myself trying to get up and slipping all over the place. I do tend to fall over a lot, doesnt help with my back problems. But im still smiling.

Thought i would aerate the lawn and bought some of those shoe things you strap onto your boots. Fine walking in one direction but then i tried to turn round. Ende up flat on my back one foot facing forwards the other backwards unable to move because the spikes were still in the ground. No one came to help as they were too busy laughing at me

Im still not brave enought to put the runner beans out, its very exposed at the allotment so i think i will wait a while. Have had the roof fixed so whilst we has the skip had amajor clear out. Why do keep on to so much clutter?

I never seem to be able to grow french beans from seed, 2 years now and ive failed miserably best i go to the garden centre AGAIN.

I know its only the afternoon but im very tired and may fall sleep in my dinner. Have spent the morning at allotment mostly digging, it never gets easier does it? Finally put potatoes in and some carrot, radish and beetroot seeds in. Picked the first asparagus, absolutely delishous. Picked washed cooked and eaten in 30 minutes.

Going to Sidmouth on tuesday to the donkey sanctuary, really excited, how sad am i? i love the donkeys. The weather forcast is rain but we will enjoy ourselves.

Keep digging out as much as you can. When i took on my allotment 6 years ago it was covered and although i still get it growing there isnt so much. I dont think any weedkiller will finish it off just persistant digging. I wish you luck.

Have been given some seed potatoes so will plant them at allotment tomorrow and then do some more weeding. Does it never end?

had a good day in the garden. Had to get a skip for when the roof men took down the chimney so having a majopr clearout, where does it all come from? Trying to empty a water butt as the tap has broken meant to do it last year but it kept filling uo with rain.

The pond is full of tadpoles, and have given some to the children next door so they can watch them grow. Now sitting down for 5 minutes before i go and cook the dinner, takes a lot of effort making a salad. Ha Ha
