Best advice is - patience. What ever you use ferment to the end then rack in demijohn and then bottle. Enjoy.

My next door neighbours had a similar problem when they moved in and just kept cutting the grass until it looked like a lawn and then turn their efforts to simple borders Two years later great progress. So take your time and the advise given here. I have to great results..

Compost help

Just a thought: When I put grass cuttings in the compost bin I usually mix it with some shredded paper to avoid a sludgy lump. Answers please to a ' discussion' between myself and gardening son - should you bake eggshells before putting in the bin? I don't but he does. Ta

Part of my horizontal rosemary bush appearsto have died. I scratched a bit of the bark and it is dry brown undeneath and there are no shoots on that branch although two others are shooting. Do I take it out now or leave it? I did take cuttings last year which are doing well.

When l empty my compost bin(plastic type) l dig it out from the bottom and store in heavy duty bags until needed which seems to work quite well. Don't think l could lift it up to empty.

The clematis is growing through a crab apple tree. In 2012 it was civered in blooms but 2013 very few. When is the correct time to move the plant to a damper and sunnier position?
