Ok, thanks Geoff. You did well with yours! I'd be happy with that.

little-ann, are those potato containers just those flower buckets? I thought about using them, but didn't think there was enough room in them. Obviously I was wrong. Thanks for the pics!

Oh that's ok then. I would rather it be delayed than bought forward!

Forgot to ask if I should use just Multi Purpose compost, or a mixture of compost and garden soil.

Thanks guys. Glad it's not just mine. I'll check that Met office website Dovefromabove, but it was handy having that one on here.

David, thanks for that little ray of hope! I'll be watching the clock until 6pm!

Wow Frank, sounds like you have some lovely views all round! Nice.

Thanks Italophile. As long as it's normal, and not my plant crying out for help, I'm happy

I use leftover plastic cutlery from Christmas. The forks are quite sharp, so just fork them and bag them. Or spoon them out the dirt. Then throw the fork/spoon away when done.

Sparklepinksunflower, where will you empty that bucket when done? I'm curious!

Has anyone else's weather report gone AWOL, or is it just mine?

Just went to see what the forcast is for the next few days, and the logos have dissapeared from the top of the page completely. Have they been moved, or are they trying to hide bad news from us!

Tomatoe plants with no flowers !

Italophile, a bit of a strange question, but does a plants smell mean anything?

Let me explain, I still have a few of my tomato plants indoors upstairs, and every so often, when walking upstairs, I get that wonderful tomato plant smell, like when they've just been watered, but other times I don't. I wondered if it meant anything, you  know, like a plants way of telling you something?

They've never been fed with anything, just been watered, and not flowering yet, so I just leave them in the lightest spot and check on them daily.

I realise reading that question back you may think I'm slightly bonkers, but hey, humans give off odours, so why can't plants!!

Thanks for that link geoff. Useful. He used a bag in that article. I have empty growbags at hand, only the 20ltr ones though. I know they'd be tall enough, but would they be wide enough, once I've started hilling?

Alternatively, I have a large plastic dustbin spare, or a few of those thick, plastic, rectangle recycling bins. I suppose I could try all 3, see what works.
