Tomatoes - strange results

Can someone tell me how I can ripen my tomatoes off please.

I've been told to wrap them in newspaper and put them in a dark place.

Rat In The Compost Bin

My Boo is a good ratter.  We had and probably will have again, rats under the shed as I feed the birds, I won't stop doing that.  They had got into the  compost bin but I kept it very wet, didn't hurt the compost at all. No rats in there since.  I see rats as a continual problem and its just a case of keeping on top of them.  But Boo, who's a 3 way cross.  Mom was a cross West Highland terrier/jack russel and dad was a pomeranian, she's very fast, very fast indeed.  So its just a case of putting poison down as and when they appear.

unusual garden, unusual problem to make safe - any ideas?

oooh send some here too.  Not a black spot anywhere, i miss the little critters really I do.  I think a saw a lavea the other day but not quite sure.  But have had loads of bees and butterflies, mostly large and small whites.

Ive had the same problem.  There are so fue beans on I'm thinking of ditching them as its not worth the trouble of watering them.  I shall give them another couple of weeks now that the weather is a bit more wet.  Although I had been misting them but perhaps not enough.  I shall learn from this, I think!

They're very hardy. Had one in our loo at work for years no one ever watered it.  It took years for it to die. Shame really.
