Christopher Lloyd -The cottage garden

Whoops! As a direct consequence of reading this thread (and within minutes) I am now waiting for delivery of Christopher Lloyd's Colour for adventurous gardeners from Amazon!  An older used copy, not sure which edition (it has a poppy on the front cover) only £2.80. Almost got carried away but I'll wait and see the condition, size, etc before ordering others

Lovely pictures of Chelsea, thanks PD and Chicky. They look so much more 'real' and achievable than on TV

Morning. Sunny with more forecast for the day  .  I had thought we'd be going on a 'trip' today but son just wants to go to the local park minibeasting .

Must give some priority to front garden and tidying up today - still got weeds to clear from the drive, blossom to sweep up, pots to place in just the right location, tools to put away, oh and buckets and bags full of garden stuff to take to the tip

How small can I keep a pittosporum Tom Thumb? I have one about the size of a large beach ball, and ideally don't want it to get much bigger. I know they generally do grow quite large but wondered if I keep it in check by regular pruning will it sulk or be ok?
