Stipa tenuissima - comb or cut ?

Posted: 20/03/2016 at 08:06

Very interesting stuff, folks! I'm in Yorkshire so, thanks PD, I think it's combing for me! I often watch GW 3 weeks late and the ' jobs for the weekend' tend to be spot on for up here on that time frame!

Anyone done any gardening today - Version 2

Posted: 28/02/2016 at 17:22

hi all!

I started by sweeping the soil away from the pots where some creature has been digging the bulbs up!

Then hacked the buddleia down to about 5' - earliest I've ever remembered to do it but so so much easier! note in diary for next year!

That about did me in so back on the sofa with coffee and Green and Blacks.

Decided I'm going to Tatton Park on the Saturday of the flower show in July with mum, and 2 sisters. OH bought me RHS membership for xmas so may as well make the most of it, although I'm buying all 4 tickets for their birthdays!

Morning all. Not been here for a few months. I'm on holiday at the moment, its 6.10pm in Japan. Wrong time of year for garden visits really bit will put a few pictures on gardens visited thread when I get back home on sun/Mon. Just lucky enough to catch the earliest hint of blossom in Tokyo - plum as its too early for the cherry blossom.
Hope you are all well and I'll catch up in a few days.

Thanks Chicky, I'm fine.

Fairy, the standard is a bit of an anomaly really. Its a snowberry ( symphoricarpos ) which usually spreads like mad with suckers.I trained it - in hopefully- into a standard a few years ago. It just decided to go against its norm and humour me, it's never thrown up suckers at all, unlike in other parts of the garden.
