The sap can also iritate skin if it comes into contact.  I would use a weedkiller to get rid, probably take a few years.  Don't let any of it flower to avoid further seeds.  Birds probably spread it after eating the berries

I think it's an Arum, probably the native variety.  Does it produce spikes of flowers then berries?

They are not the same.  They are a natural predator of slugs so you are not introducing any chemicals

The leaves aren't right for star of bethlehem.  I have tulips that look like this but unfortunately I didn't record the name.  There is a range of star shaped tulips which have these very long thin leaves.

I have one of these that has spread 30 feet in one direction with the roots being at least 3 feet down.  Take great care

All you can really do is cut through the roots where they come under the boundary.Dig out the shoots on your side.  If you use weedkiller it could kill the main plant which could lead to a legal battle.  The roots can go down a long way so putting a physical barrier is quite difficult.
