I left a couple of Hyacinth bulbs in the greenhouse after lifting them, I am surprised to see one of them is flowering! Is this unusual?
I have been told cucumber slices placed in a pie tin or something similair will keep slugs away all season. Apparently the chemicals in the cucumber and aluminium give off a smell they hate. Am going to try it myself.

Does anyone know why I can't buy Chestnut compound any more? I always used it, after pricking out seedling, to water with. I can't even find it online.
I find Thompson-Morgan very fair and helpful when I have had a problem relating to items purchased.
I'm in Leighton Buzzard Beds, I found a Freecycle here, thanks to Lacewing.
I also have loads of pots to give away, my garage is bursting with them.
