strawberry hanging basket

Posted: 15/03/2013 at 19:35
due to my last hanging basket boo boo which many of you on here will know about, I thought before I do anything with my strawberry starter plants I would ask a little advice on the best way to plant and grow them in a hanging basket (the misses wants our own strawberries lol) in an ideal world I would eventually like them to be hung just outside the back door, I also read that birds are quite fond of them so wondered how to protect them to, I have read the threads on here but was looking for a little more advice ,thanks for any info

Thanks bunny, so do violas survive all year round and come out the next year? I was under the impression they were a one season plant!

Thanks for all the comments I think they are going to become a front room decoration for now as I get a lot of light in the front window, can i put them out in the day or did i misread the post about putting them out in the day?
I have got some viola that I picked up from b&q (20 foe ??1) they are still in there polystyrene I was going to plant these in a display box I have got its about 2 foot long, can I plant the violas in this now or should I wait a bit?
