The best multi purpose compost this year

Posted: 23/05/2013 at 06:26

After the comments on here and other forums this must be the worst year ever for rubbish compost. Someone has made a real killing by making this rubbish and conning british gardeners. My worst experience has been with B&Qs Verve, I have lost countless seedlings because nothing will grow in it,I have been gardening for 50 years and have never seen such poor quality compost before.B&Q should be ashamed of themselves for selling this rubbish as multi-purpose compost.

Saint or sinner?.....don't like annuals

Posted: 16/05/2013 at 11:40

I just love annuals, there ive said it. couldnt imagine not looking through the seeds catalogues straight after christmas and planning for the summer.Sowing the seeds and nurtering them, then looking at my garden in full bloom and having the satisfaction that everything has been grown by myself. Being retired I obviously have the time to do it and keeps me busy through the worst months of the year.

Lisa, dont be put off by Lazy Gardeners reply, thats the first time on here that I have seen such a negative reply to someone asking for help. I am sure that by this time next year you will reap the benefits of this forum and be very successful with your allotment. Good luck!

I have tried all the suggested remedies but none of them work so I now use a watering can to dilute it.

After looking at their catalogue they seem very pricey with post and packaging quite high to.Have to agree with Verdun about Brookside nursery ,nice to buy from small nursery with good quality plants at very reasonable prices.
