The sleet/rain has stopped for the minute but it is now just grey and dreary.

Glad I got outdoors yesterday. Today am having to settle for chocolate biscuits as consolation while I get on with some work.

Come on Spring! Hurry up!

I say ginnel (from Lancs originally, now "on the other side" ), can't think what the phrase would be round here. I have heard of snicket though. Will have to ask OH.

I feel so much better just for having got some things started. A potter about does wonders for my sanity!
I need some more compost now though. (My OH always asks why...you got some last year!)

I planted up my pack of Mirabilis. I haven't grown these before but at 89p for a pack of 5 roots, worth a try. They looked very much like carrots that were well past their prime! Will have to see what happens!

Mission accomplished!
A pleasant 12C in greenhouse. Some seeds sown for my heated propagators.
Some Sungold, some Roma tomatoes (give them a try), a few baby cucumbers, Cleome (no success last year, will have another go) and some Schizanthus.

Last year I lost quite a few seedliings, I think it was the larva of fungus gnats that ate the roots.
Had a wander round the garden too for a bit of a survey. Looks like I am going to be busy! Some parts need a bit an overhaul. There are some shrubs that were in when we moved in 9 1/2 years ago. I left tem as there wasn't much. Some things have not performed well enough. They need to go to put in something I prefer!

Gave up on idea of seed sowing in GH. Too cold! Will try again tomorrow!

Jean is there a wireless switch on your laptop that could've got turned off? Mine has one at the front, an actual switch. On daughters laptop you use one of the function keys to turn wireless connection on/off. She has turned it off accidentally before now. It has a little pic that sort of looks like this ((i))

Afternoon
I'd like some weather like Becks has please!
Hoping to get out in the garden this afternoon after work.
Covered in snow, really horrible slushy stuff now and there is sleet to go with it

Will get into greenhouse and sow some seeds then bring them in to put in heated propagators in the conservatory. At least I will have done something. Will have to see how cold it is

One of those mornings but at least I haven't had to wash a stinky dog
