Good luck! Happy cake testing
Sometimes it is a case of getting to know how it works out with your oven!

Hi Becks. Curdling....the mix looks less creamy/ a bit "split", sorry tricky to describe. If in doubt, add the odd spoon of flour as you add egg.
You just get used to what it looks like I suppose.

I think in one tin it is usually closer to 40 mins ish, Becks.
If using weights of ingredients rather than weight of eggs I would say 4oz/100g to 2 eggs, like Jo, I don't tend to add baking powder though.

I don't add milk either. I use 2/3 eggs. You can weigh the eggs then add the same weight of marg (I use Stork), sugar (caster) and SR flour.
I cream together the marg and sugar until the mix is more white than yellow. Then add eggs a bit at a time, with a bit of the flour if it looks like it may curdle. Then fold in rest of the sifted flour, in a couple of stages, not all at once.
I use 2 sandwich tins.
I have oven at about 180C and it is a fan. I look at it at about 20mins ish and then decide if it needs longer- until springs back when gently pressed, as Jo says.

Afternoon Forkers!

Chris-it was Jeff Wayne that did the War or the Worlds "musical". There has been a revamp of it recently with Liam Neesom and Gary Barlow on it (amongst others).

Big, fat flakes of snow this morning for a while. Nothing this afternoon, quite wet and slushy underfoot. The sky looks grey so we'll just have to wait and see if it comes to anything!

I have my winter boots at the ready! I bought them last year and that was the kiss of death for the snow, I didn't get to wear them-it melted the day after I bought them!

It has got rather chilly here but no sign of snow.

Hello everyone!
A busy weekend as out with friends yesterday and then family visitors today.

Sorry to hear about your chickens P Pam!

iPad info as Becks says. Depends on what you want to do for amount of storage needed. I have 16GB one and as it gets full I delete stuff not as bothered with.
I don't think you could do without a PC or laptop as well though.
I love how you don't have to wait for an iPad to start up! It is great for emails and web browsing. I would still use the laptop for "work stuff ".
