Just ordered more Aquilegia seeds ordered. Thank goodness this isnt facebook or my OH would know about it hehe, cheeky but I much prefer taking parcels of seeds in the post than brake calipers and brake leavers  Much more exciting

New Gardener . . . New House . . . What would you plant?

Looking great. I love the bit 'by the pool' I have a massive puddle at the bottom of my garden, does that count? lol mind you. I wouldn't go in it. There was a dead mole floating there this morning

I love that fact that you have so much colour there for this time of the year. It looks so sunny and nice. I really like the stone planter too. Im hoping to build on myself and now I have seen yours done...I have decided that its a definite. You have made a great start and in such a short space of time. Well done you. You should be very proud of yourself

I will be keeping an eye on this thread if thats ok? You have some great plans and I like the fact we get pictures too. As Guy Martin would say, 'Proper Job'

Thanks Ponddigger. My brain is working and now am thinking of something a bit more adventurous lol. I quite fancy water down a tree stump or over stone. Im assuming its the same principle???

I ended up at a new years party where I met the son of one of Capercallie and have now free tickets whenever I need them. Very chuffed with myself lol

Growing Sweet Peas

After 2 weeks away came back to find only 2 shoots remaining - the rest had been eaten.

So (sorry David K) but i've brought them inside and they are all trying to grow again!, keeping them safe on the sill now.

although last spring i kept my sunflowers indoors to protect from slugs and when they were a foot high, i put them next to the patio door for light and the dog ate them!

Hmmm, barbed wire may be an option this year from your little four legged furface . I thought you were going to say your dog had lifted his leg on them. Animals can be very cheeky. I have two cats and they insist in eating anything that is green. The smallest will climb up the door just to get to the spider plant on the top of the book shelf!

I'm in an upper flat so have the back and the side. My neighbour isn't into gardening at all so hes happy for me to do anything anywhere. Mine is south facing so that's good cause the front is in permanent shade, I think I have the better deal

Things are definitely starting to sprout which is great. Wont be long

personal experience on composting

This seems to be the case Frank  Thank you. I am very grateful for the advice. I worked for my dad as a landscaper for many years but composting is something we never had to do as the clients would sort that. I'm looking forward to being able to use my own this year. Its already becoming a bit of an obsession lol.

Hey thats looking really good

You make it look so easy and as though its a walk in the park lol. That foam stuff seems to be the way to go as well. Alot easier instead of cement which takes ages. So how long before the water is flowing now then?
