Seed swap

Lol, Im just in from potting up all my wee parcels. I have had a great day. My Cyclamen are all looking great Nutcutlet. Thank you. Planted up some seeds (They said I can on the packet )

Been for a nose and the ferns are starting to unravel which is a bit early but we have had 12-13 degrees here for 4 days so hoping they will be ok. Im sure they will. I also looked at some new places to put things. My christmas prezzie from my OH arrived today. A wee gargoyle kind of gate keeper with his sword but when I opened the box...he had had his head knocked off

Ahhh right. Thanks Bob, Well I have thinned out my brown stuff as there was too much in it and am now keeping a separate bin for kitchen peelings and a separate one for my garden green leaf and weed (Not perennial as I'm guessing they don't go in?) ready to mix when they are a little fuller. It costs me a fortune for my compost so decided that this year I am having a go at making my own  I don't mean to pester folks, its just I have no idea about this side of things.

Cool. Just been down to the greenhouse and planted up all my wee plant parcels. I am drastically running out of space lol, but saying that there are a few things in there that I put in because I had not been quick enough to get them in the garden.

It can be stressful lol, trying to work out where they will be happy and where I want them lol. My plants have learnt to be hardy as they dont get left in one place for too long before they are relocated to a perm site lol

Love the the enthusiasm but stay calm and relax-we have weeks yet-it is only 5th January

My fear is you are wasting time, energy, and money

There is some cold weather on the way-be very afraid

I can be a little over excitable when it comes to my garden. Not doin so well if made my first stinker in Jan lol. I guess I need to sit on my hands a little longer.

That explains why when I asked them they said they were planted in Jan. They didnt tell me they have heated greenhouses etc.

OK, so, new years resolution...sit on my hands, nail my feet to the floor and hide the tomato seeds lol.

New Gardener . . . New House . . . What would you plant?

You guys have all made some lovely suggestions. I have no idea what would grow in your area larkehater but I would be putting lots of fragrant plants in. Lavender's would do well like Kate has suggested. You are soo lucky as you could grow so many exotic plants that I have seen in books and online where as they wouldnt even come out their seed packets here in Scotland lol. Im enjoying following this thread

Hmmm, the greenhouse has wrap in it and the tomatoes? I only planted 2 just to see what they would do.

I know the mugwort is safe to plant now. I always wonder how garden centres get their tomatoes started so early when I was planting. I may have been a little hasty in the toms.

I agree with Nutcutlet. Just be sure to get all root fibers out. Even if there is a 10mm length...it will root again.

Its a lovely plant, just once you have it...its a pain in the bum to get rid off

No, they are in the house. I didnt expect them to come up so quick. I did the same last year and they were great. Had a fantastic harvest off them as well. To be honest. Im kinda experimenting this year with alot of stuff. All part of the adventure
