Your experiences with Astrantia

Hehehe, 'plant porn' I get exactly the same from my OH lol. I found some Astrantia Major seeds that I found in my seed collection that I had been given by my sister and had totally forgotten about Only 4 but still enough to get a plant I hope. I have planted them today and recorded the date so I can note down how long they take to peak through the surface

Thanks guys. I will have a look and see what there is

Zoomer, I have sent my address and will post yours out in the morning. Thank you.

I spent the morning in the green house today. I found a wonderful piece of wood at the beach for the garden too. I just need to clean it up a little but it will eventually (after many many washes) be a water feature. Arghh, I want the spring to arrive...not only to get the bike out again but to get my garden growing again lol

Too late now Sam, wait until Feb!

If you use toilet rolls as growing tubes, you wont need to remove the plant from it as the tube will rot down around the plants roots once in the ground.

Trying to remove the plant could damage the roots, although if the tube was already beginning to get soggy & disintergrating, then gently removing some of it would probably be possible at planting time, but no need IME. J.

Ok, cool. Thanks. I will give that a shot in Feb then

I had'nt Verdun, no. They sound loverly. I love the lemon scents. I have loads of lavender and rosemary that have come from cuttings I took this year and last so Im planning on making a hedge out of them. I love herbs for cooking, magic, medicinal etc. I am hoping to have a big collection again. My last cottage, everything in the garden was there either edible or herbal. If it didn't have a use, it didn't get grown but my new garden is 4 times the size so can definitely afford to add more now

Chiltern seeds I've used a lot and they're very reliable and sell a lot of interesting stuff. Nickys Nursery I haven't used but there's a good list of seeds.

I found Nickys last night and its great. I also ord d some of the long spurred Aquilegia last night form the link that you put up. The owner has an incrediblecollection. I ordered some White Sage seeds, Wild Bergamont, Bee Balm, Mugwort, & black cornflower seeds. Looking forward to seeing how they come on
