Thanks Verdun,

Just seems strange as all the snails that I have found in the garden seem dormant, plus the slugs.? Instead of provado would garlic concentrate work?

So early into spring and I have a problem which I think has never been far away. My Delphiniums like my Aquilegia's have been putting on growth early, but I have just noticed today that all the shoots of the Delphinium have been eaten. I am thinking it is the larvae of either a caterpillar or vine weevil. I have dug the plant in Q up, washed it off, but found no grubs, but planted it temporarily in some compost. Any ideas people?

What is the best grass seed/ turf for the above facing back garden. After being layed two years ago, my lawn even though not substantial has gone patchy?

I think you know where I am going with this post my small garden is a battleground. During winter one of my borders is covered in dead leaves which I leave on purpose, the other border gets the brunt of the said problem above. Now that spring/summer is upon us my borders are still growing the ground cover to stop cats using it as a toilet. I have used planks on bare soil, pebbles on areas after removing the feces, cat repellent granules and spray, moth balls yet they still find spots and don't seem to be bothered by the repellent or moth balls. Suggestions please I'm getting hacked of with them!

Sorry for the delay Jimmy was trying to upload a photo, as you can imagine with Delphiniums, not quite like that but similar, and smaller, but not all leaves, one or two only.

Looks like I am going to have to buy nematodes for two pests then lol, they arent holes as such Bob just edges of individual leaves have bits missing, hence why I thought Ants.??

I cant really describe the shapes Jimmy, its more like little nibbles have been taken instead of large pieces, hence why i thought of the ants, are Mason Bees active at this time of year? Bearing in mind I live in Lincolnshire so spring is always late?
