Gilly, "Middle aged"??? I cast Nasturtiums at that statement, middle aged indeed they are nearly new??
The thing is Gilly I have two wardrobes full of them, everything gets dropped in the wash basket at night and all fresh clothes after my morning shower, I think it is the old soldiers aversion to being wounded with dirty clothes on your back.
You once saw bags at nearly every door on our road now it is the odd one so they are losing out with overkill.
The other thing is the people calling wanting you to sign up so much a month for a charity, I already do six charities three local the forces charities and Salvation Army, they would be there with a cup of tea and a bun where the Naafi refused to go. I say sorry enough is enough goodbye.

Blue Sky and fluffy white clouds plus Sunshine in Stockton today, definitely warm, doors and windows open so Sonny the Corgi come Jack Russel is galloping in and out wanting to play. We have him 9 to 4 as his owners next door are at work otherwise he would be locked in, I hate the thought of that.
Honeymooners back today from Greece so need to fill the fridge for them, its all go.

OK what will stop those plastic bags asking for clothes being pushed through the letter box, today I have had three. How many old clothes do they think I have, some of mine are only fifteen years old, hardly run in yet???

Dull and dry in Stockton, the troilus is blooming and the Rhododendron's too so the plants are enjoying it.
Daughter in California tells me they got home from here to 89F, to hot to eat she says, can she ship some over I ask?

Stockton dull and dour though warm, the plants seem to like it and the peas are flowering, beans reaching for the skies, so not all bad then.

friends wedding yesterday

I know how you feel VP my Daughter got married on Sunday May 5th her birthday and it has lifted my spirits no end.
All the family and friends took over a local Hotel under Roseberry Topping the Cleveland Hills and it was one lovely day and also bright and sunny for the photo's in the gardens.
A sit dowm meal disco till twelve and Dad's speech (me) got laughs tears and applause so I did not show them up, "again".
I do remember being poured into my room although up bright and early for breakfast next day.
They are still in Greece, the Daughter and Granddaughter from California flew back Thursday and yet I still have a buzz, lets us just enjoy it VP.

Gardener's sayings.

We had a large garden that fed us the animals and extended family.
Dad a keen gardener would say as he planted or cast seed in regimental rows rotated year by year, "A row for the beasties, a row for the animals and a row for us with a spare", we never went hungry.

Tina, I am with you, driving needs full concentration at all times, more so these days as the roads are full of idiots who read maps, papers, change discs then select the tracks all whilst NOT watching the road.
I have driven vehicles from a young age, Dad had a haulage business so crash gear boxes, direct steering, rod and cable brakes taught me that you watch it at all times. I think the actual moving of the vehicle has got too easy yet the driving conditions much harder.
I refuse to be forced into escape situations and looking well up the road you can see them coming, I reduce speed and drop back, let them get on with it, then some moron will be flashing and beeping at you for doing the actual speed limit, that will be the one being pulled from a mangled vehicle five miles further on. Madness.
