Fertilisers

Hi all!

Can anyone recommend an affordable, general purpose fertiliser to perk up my pots? I have been using Miracle Gro soluble fertiliser but I would love to know if I can do better!

Many thanks

Hi all!

I am lucky enough to have some time on my hands and I am keen to make the most of it and plant out several perennials that I have had in pots for at least two years.  I have cleared borders and top dressed with this year's container compost but now I am concerned that I have left it too late.

What advice does anyone have?

Thanks Landgirl100. I have been looking at the weedpuller which looks rather brilliant. The problem I had is the tynes (I don't know how to spell that!) bending out of shape on my hand forks  and the trowel has come loose from its handle and has bent and spins around which makes things a bit tricky!

Hi all!

I am looking for a brand of garden tools that are long lasting and robust. My husband is keen to buy me some new tools for Xmas, to replace my first set of tools that were real cheapies and bought many years ago!

Can anyone recommend a brand that makes hand trowels and forks, mattocks etc and a gadget for lifting weeds out of lawns?

Many thanks

It may be a Rhododendron 'Daviesii'

how about some white penstemons? I have found that when my hardy geraniums get too leggy I cut them down almost to ground level. You will see new growth ready to come through at the base. You will get fresh growth and hopefully a second flush of flowers. I have alysum, white and purple, which is gorgeous at night. I also have a rhodedendron which has huge white flowers and the most unbelievable scent. It was here when I moved in and unfortunately I haven't been able to identify it.
