A brilliant story, one that we should all adhere to. We can make a difference if we are receptive to any bees we see that are looking a bit bewildered, as they emerge from hibernation. Thanks for the info Kate, you are a very special bee saviour.

Tonights Great Garden Revival showed a great idea for growing mushrooms on a block of wood, Chris Beardshaw definitely inspired me to get some fungi growing.  Looks so easy.

2 year old fruit tree

Bought this in a reputable orchard but have lost the label.  Planted in our heavy clay soil it has given us a small amount of apples even in the first year, but I was wondering if we should prune it as branches are quite long - it is only about 5ft in height, I don't think it will be a massive tree, but at the moment I have supports for some of the branches as they were quite heavily dangling down.  I may go back to the orchard if no-one can help.
