Hi Kate, I love your blogs. We have the bee fly here too. They fascinate me, busily probing the trumpets of lungwort. Opening the new Spring season for the show to begin.

Hi chel, yes I thought the same. And not much information can be had in the 5 minute slot given to Carol. I,m not getting much from the programme now but I LOVE Monty,s lovely dog. Is half an hour long enough for a gardening programme ?

Hi Flowering rose, Your walk sounds bracing to say the least. We,ve had sunshine in Cambs for most of the day and battering winds. Which seem to have died down now. Fingers crossed for peaceful dry night. Here,s hoping the Somerset levels begin be sorted soon. I can,t imagine what it must be like for everyone affected by these terrible weather events. And let,s hope that the government remembers charity begins at home.

Hi nutcutlet, up until the dreaded green cattys I had the best display of said Iris ever. Buds still coming up in abundance BUT somewhere lurking in the leafage is the enemy.

No I,m not going outside either. Been out once to retrieve whopping great tarpaulin wrapped around my Acer. Enough. And it,s perishing.

Hi everyone, I hope you haven,t had too much damage to your gardens. It was certainly rough last night. We got away with very little , just pots blown over and still the winds continue sweeping over us this morning. On a good note the sun is out.

Hi Bob, Have not taken pic as yet. Just removed to a different spot. They are hard to spot as they mimic the exact green they are eating. Hope everyone escaped too much damage to their gardens. I,m in Cambridgeshire and have been very lucky.

Good evening everyone, does anyone know what the green catty is, that is scoffing my Iris Stylosa and my polyanthus ? It is deep green and mid size for a caterpillar. With a very large appetite!!!
