Rhubarb

My rhubarb has been in place for 12 or 14 years and until they stop producing so much fruit, I shall leave well alone. I usually surround the rhubarb with well rotted manure about now but don't cover the crowns.

Storing Fucshias

Jean, You aren't doing anything wrong just differently. If I leave the leaves and flowers to drop in their own good time they will certainly get botritus so I strip everything off. I have a better success rate this way.

Remember that fuchsias were discovered br Mr FUCHS hence the spelling. I reduce all of the stemms to about 4" or 5", strip off all leaves and flowers, then store under the greenhouse staging with a layer of bubble wrap or fleece over the top. My greenhouse is a cool greenhouse.

Buddleja

Buddleias should be pruned in the Spring.

I would always and have always had secondhand greenhouses. Some excellent ones are often either given away or sold cheaply in the local newspaper and elsewhere. Spend the money saved on staging/plants/automatic window opener.

Always dig a deeper and wider hole than you imagine. Some compost on the bottom and plant in the hole at the same depth it was originally.

Fuchsias

I found if the stems aren't stripped, what flowers and/or leaves which remain go mouldy.
