toadstools in my lawn

Posted: 10/05/2015 at 06:46

Hi all,  I have got toadstools on my lawn.  Not many,  but I've not had any before. Are they harmful and what has caused them?  I know my lawn has quite a few weeds in ( I have some feed and weed just waiting for the right weather to apply it. )

What can I do to get rid of them and prevent them coming back in the future?

Granma....You said I must have a lot of patience to do jigsaw puzzles, well the one I bought today from a charity shop will test it to the limit. It has 750 pieces and the 'picture' is an ordnance survey map of The Lake District........Wish me luck!

In the first instance I would put in an objection to the planning permission.

Well we all know they're related to each other but how do they tell each other apart when they share the same names

We have 2 Keiths in the family, my brother and my cousin. We called them big Keith and little Keith.

The only problem is.....little Keith is now bigger than big Keith

Ideas for a end of garden mound?

I would invest in a couple of plastic dustbins and sieve the soil into them.  You can then use it to top up any raised beds when they need it,  (mixed with some MPC of course )

Hi Wayne and welcome to the site.  To post photos on here click on the green tree icon just above the text box and follow the instructions.

Photos are always helpful, (and we all love to look at other people's gardens )

I can't help much with the gardening issues being a novice myself,  but what I will say is don't try to do it all at once. Little and often is the key.

Others with more experience will be along to offer more advice.

Just be posative.  Look at what you can do. ...not what you can't.

You should see the piece you want to quote in the top of the reply box

My health problems are minor compared to yours.  I have a problem with my back that means that I can't bend,  (not that anyone should bend ) and I also have arthritis in my hands neck and lower spine.

I do most of my gardening sitting on a camping mat.  Little and often is my motto.  Before I start I have to set a timer for an hours time or I get carried away and suffer terribly .
