Lovely day and a busy one.  Dug up a conifer that weighed a ton.  Wheelbarrow was full.  Replenished the soil and planted a series of perennials and potted lilies then mulched.

A cheeky so and so took a photo of me with soil over my face....promised to put it on facebook ......ha ha

lucky here that frost is not offen a problem doubt your magnolia will still show a few flowers later Bob

Can you get them to put it on here please?..pretty please

Bad knees

I don't seem to have the same problem as most of you.  My knees are not  (much ) of a problem.  But I have gone bad from the waist upwards.  Spine, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands and neck all have arthritis.

But you can always find someone worse than you, if you look around.  I always think "there but for the grace of God go I "

House names that suit the garden (or don't)

A message from OH to all who have house names, but no number.  Please make sure the name is visible.  He used to be a courier and on dark, winter evenings looking for a house with just a name is a nightmare.

Thought for Lyn

It's nice to see you slept well after the broken nights you have had recently,  you must have needed it.

Look after yourself.

I used to live near a house called llamedos. I asked the owners if there was a Welsh connection as we were in the Midlands in England. No,  but then he told me this . His wife was the person who everyone turned to when they needed help,  parcels being delivered,  children looking after, taxiing to and fro, she never said no.

When she had to go in hospital for a serious operation,  no one would lift a finger to help him .

Now read it backwards.  That is my motto now,  he said.

Hugs to Lyn who lost her beloved dad.  He is at peace now. You looked after your mum, then your dad,  now is the time to step back,  remember the good times, and most importantly, look after yourself. Hugs. Pauline x
