With regard to your Prunus yedoensis 'Shidare-yoshino' It is taller than what I have here.....

It doesn't have any catkins.

 This can be found in my front garden - but cannot remember what it is!!? :S ha! Hopefully someone can help? I know, many of you shall be saying it is not a great photo.... But! its the best I can do for now : ) Now this is lovely when in flower, just before the leaves fall they go a lovely red/orange.

I would just like to find out what it is to get some general information - to maintain it etc. Thinking about giving it a good trim!?!? It has some root on it.

Save my lawn

Hi... I take it that the dogs are Bitches.  Bitches urine has an scorching effect on lawns.  Your problem is very annoying & frusitrating because so little can really be done to prevent or even cure it. There isn't any effective repellants on the market and waving goodbye to dogs is totally out of the question and is not really a suggestion..

The only thing I would be suggest is get some lawn sand or some a conditioner product which is high in nitrogen - And treat the whole lawn.
Or just water the patch copiously. If the brown patch area remains an eyesore, I would then look into re-seeding or turfing.

(ps my neighbour has the same problem the worse of it all is- it isnt even his dog - only occurs when the grandson appears his dog...)

Successful Lawn Feed Anyone?

Therer are many lawn feeds on the market as you probably already know yourself. I woud go for one high in nitrogen, which will green up your lawn perfectly. "Miracle-Gro water soluable lawn food" is one that I have been using and found it to be very easy to use - and have had great results. What I also use is "Westland AFTER CUT". This is very good and can be applied straight away after cutting - (Granular). Doesnt need to watered in, and it does not scorch the grass...
 Also think about Lawn sand which helps with the removal of weeds, moss etc and also improves drainage. This is also high in nitrogen.
