Totally agree with bookertoo my canes also like to grow away from the parent plant. Handy though I carefully dig them up and move them further along the fence the others are grown against. I love free plants.

Going to try this method for the first time tomorrow got some bargin seeds on T&M so if it works then great, if not then its cost hardly anything.

I was thinking the same, my theory is that it must work because the wind would spread the seed naturally so we would just be copying that process

I agree with other posts I only go for the day, get there early easier to walk round, I also take a picnic some of the food can be expensive. It's a great day out good plant stalls, the show seems a little smaller now the good food show is there as well. It's nice to have your GW subscribers card to get into the lounge area.

I wouldn't be too worried about getting them in the ground yet mine are still in their pots I had to bring them indoors because it was too cold in the greenhouse don't have heating in there. They are only just starting to show some life. I live in Yorkshire and I'm waiting for warmer dryer weather, I get the feeling i could be waiting for a while.

On top of your canes fill a plant pot with straw and place it upside down over the cane. It will attract the earwigs they like to sleep in there, check and empty the pots when you find them, they cause havoc with the flowers eating them.

Hi I copied my pictures to paint, made them smaller and saved them as a jpeg file. Then you should be able to add them flowing the links when clicking the picture icon, I haven't worked out yet what exact size it has to be it was just trial. Hope it helps good luck.
